How To Apply Sweet Apricot Co Nail Wraps

Howdy!  We're so pleased that you're interested in our nail wraps.  This page will eventually have a video and other resources for applying Sweet Apricot Co Nail Wraps... but here's some basic information.

1.  Start with dry clean hands -- give them a good wash before you start... our hands are naturally oily and even if you think they're clean they have a little oil.  You can also use an alcohol pad around your nail beds.  All this will help the wraps adhere more easily to your nail beds.

 - this is a good time to push back your cuticles if needed.  You don't want to put the wraps on your cuticles... they're designed to adhere to your nail beds.

- this is also a good time to shape your nails with a file if needed.

2.  Open your nail wraps... Now we size them to the width of your nail beds...  Some wrap sets are designed in one direction and others are a double ended design.  The double ended designs can be cut in half and used for both hands if your nails are short ... making them a super bargain!! But you'll want to reseal the packaging really well because exposure to air over time will dry out the nail wraps and they won't stick to the nail beds.

 - I like to lay my nail wraps in the order I'll put them on -- I work from my pinky finger to my thumb nail.

3. Extra step - I like to use a base coat on my nails -- I apply two coats of Essie Hard to Resist Nail Strengthener.  It dries really fast and makes taking off my wraps a breeze when I'm ready for a new set. You can find it at the drug store or on Amazon.  You'll find a link below.

I do these next steps one nail at a time and leave my thumb nails for last.

4.  Remove the clear plastic film from on top of the nail wrap.

5.  Peel the nail wrap away from the backing paper... use the gray tab along the center to accomplish this.

6.  Lay the wrap at the base of your nail bed -- as close as you can to the cuticle without covering the cuticle. These wraps are forgiving and can be repositioned if you get it wrong the first time... just gently lift them and try again.

7.  Press the wrap and smooth it over the nail paying special attention to the sides ... and smooth any wrinkles out .  There's a little stretch and give to the wraps.

7.  Trim the wrap (if it's a double ended wrap and you're using the other half on your other hand, go ahead and apply it to that fingernail next).

8.  Using a nail file (we'll send one with each order) file away the excess nail wrap -- this will create a smooth edge -- try to hold the file perpendicular to the nail and file up and down for the best results.

9.  Extra step - I like to add a top coat to my wraps... it keeps me from picking at the edges... protects them from getting loose in hot soapy water and adds a ton of lasting shine.  My current favorite is Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel Step 2 top coat.  It dries super fast but doesn't shrink your wraps like other fast drying top coats can.  You can find it at the drug store or on Amazon (link below).

Enjoy!!  Your nail wraps will last a week or more (depends on how fast your nails grow!) - I top mine off with more top coat if they start to lift... but usually that's after they've been on a week.  To take them off you can use any nail polish remover.  I actually just peel mine off and I have no damage to my nails due to using a base coat.

Personal testimonial -- I have struggled to have pretty nails forever.  The nail salon was nice but taking time to go, and the expense were too much for me.  I love the idea of polishing my nails, but I'm not that good at it... and I always smudged them!  These wraps are fantastic.. no dry time, even with the top coat it's so fast! Even though my nails are soft bendy the wraps don't chip or crack... so I don't pick them to bits in just a few days like I always did with nail polish (even with gel manicures).  And they're AFFORDABLE!!  I can have a new set every week (I'm a seasonal gal... I love to decorate for the seasons... and I love nails for the seasons too!)  Welcome to my fun and fancy obsession! ~Kathleen
